As our girls are getting older and more independent, Randel and I are benefiting from more and more time to ourselves. We decided to make good use of our time alone this weekend and did a road trip on Saturday up north to Whangarei, returning on Sunday afternoon. I love the drive up North and the greenery and scenery never disappoints. Whangarei is 160kms north of Auckland and a very quaint little city. We stopped on the way up and on the way down at various little towns including Warkworth, Wellsford and Waipu where we visiting some very interesting antique / collectable stores.
